I'm done as the OP asked whether or not this update is to be released. For the record I'd love the lines to move with the wheels and was surprised that it wasn't included, vehicle price or necessity excluded. It would be a great update though.

Forward facing cameras with guidance already exist. As do 360 degree cameras.
I too believe that for a 50k truck in this time it should be standard. I know Mazadas with more little nice to haves in them for less cost and same year. The tech is available and it's well within what we pay for so I think it's fair it would be there. In no way do I need it, my 2 trucks before this had no cameras or sensors. But like stated it is a nice to have feature and is completely do able on fords part.

In my profession we call these disposable cars meaning that once they are wrecked they are pretty much a write off.
It would appear that I'm in the minority and the masses want these assist aids I guess just because the other guy has it?

Ohh, I know what exists out there hence the forward camera on the raptor and 360 cameras on motor homes and big rigs now. Something has to give cost wise, sure the Mazda is packed with tech but is not nearly as capable or stoutly built as the F150.

I wasn't comparing capability of a ford to a Mazda I believe I was comparing tech.
I also don't recall saying I want or need it. I got along for years without any source of assist features in a bare Silverado and Sierra. I said it would be nice to have. Not that I need it, not that I'm dreaming of the feature at night. Simply that it would be nice to have and I don't see why not as it's extremely common with today's tech especially for the price we pay. That is all.

Well the raptors camera actually does function for off roading. The S Class my father is about to purchase has 360 cameras and has some ridiculous features if you know anything about the S. Let me ask it another way as I was pretty blunt.
With huge mirrors and a back up camera how are the lines moving with the wheel going to help or aid you? I just don't get it as I know ahead of time how my truck and wheels will track, that never changes and will be consistent so adding the movable lines will not change anything either other than add a gee whiz factor for your passenger.

After reading all the comments, it seems most everyone agrees it would be a nice feature. Sorry that you have an issue with it RES4UE. I work in the collision industry, my family owns two collision shops. After running one of our locations for the past 12 years I have seen many drivers rely on technoligy only to end up at my shop getting a new front or rear bumper cover. A bad driver is a bad driver, park distance control or not. Also being in the industry I see a lot of lower end vehicles with more advanced technology than some higher end vehicles. It is not out of line to think that the new F150 should be capable of this. Many guys will appreciate it for the sole fact that on occasion their wives might have to use the truck and might not be used to a bigger vehicle. There is no reason to bash me for thinking its a good idea that Ford supposedly added the update and enquiring about the release.

Guess what, if my wife drives my truck she learns how to drive it with mirrors first or she doesn't drive.
I guess I'm just sick of all the "I bought a $50,000 dollar truck and I'm still whining about what it doesn't have."
Since you're in the industry you should know that you have to cut costs somewhere. I believe Ford knows the truck segment and that most buyers can drive without goofy lines that turn with your wheel, hence no parking assist like their compact Eco boxes.
Hate to say it but your post hasn't gained much traction on the forum. Most of it is back and forth between a couple of us.
I would assume more would have spoken up and posted agreeing if they wanted it.

There would be minimal cost to add this feature. The truck already has the sensors in the steering, its a matter of programming, which is already basically done because other ford models with my ford touch already have it. Its just a matter of inserting the code into the new update. Im guessing thats why the representative at Ford said its in the new update. Apparently they feel its worth adding too and if it cost them a lot of money to do so.. it wouldn't have been added.
Im surprised your going out of your way repeatedly to express your opinion on something that was never even asked in the title of the post. Especially when you added a back up cam yourself... smh... look in the mirror bud.
