Default New Instrument Cluster

My 2014 F150 Lariat with Sync 2 instrument clusters center info screen went blank. I sent the cluster in to be fixed and they could not fix it so I am looking at a new instrument cluster. My question is if I order the correct NEW FACTORY FORD part is it plug and play or do i have to have it programmed by the dealer for my specific truck, for reasons other than to just get the correct milage to show. The part number is EL3Z-10849-NA. The sad thing is I simply do not trust my local dealer after I took it in for Sync problems and they charged me 130 and said I needed the latest update and that would be 300 additional. I told them I would update it and when I got home and looked I already had the latest update, needless to say I was unhappy. Thanks

It should need some programming, I believe. Can you handle some computer work? Check the Forscan thread at the top of the forum. You could program it yourself. Not sure about the mileage, if they figured that out via Forscan for a 2014. Probably need a special shop for that, dealers generally don't do it, either.

I replaced the instrument cluster in my '13. I found one with similar miles and waited till the mileage ws close, then swapped clusters. Had the dealer reprogram the as built data to match that and other mods I had done.
