I work in the plastic blow molding industry. We make a lot of fuel tanks for ATVs, RTVs, snowmobiles, and lawn&garden vehicles - but no automovite OEMs. However, one of our tool makers DOES make molds for OEM suppliers. I just had a discussion with one of our tool makers earlier this week and he informed me that they are currently building a mold for Ford right now for a 2011 F150 DIESEL. That's right, Ford is planning on introducing a diesel F150 in 2011! Tooling is being made now.

Just thought some of you might be interested in knowing...

i thought the diesel was slated for 09? now i gotta wait another 2 years for it to show up and then another 2 years for them to work out the bugs? it better be worth it. lol

I read that the 4.4 diesel was going to be offered as an optional engine for 2010.

Maybe they paln on making some frame changes for 2011. After Ford had designed the 04 body style in 03, They started designing the 09s. They want the diesel out for 2010 for sure otherize they may as well kiss their best selling truck status goodbye.

I hope that they do come out with it for 2009 I don't want to have to wait a few more years. If that is the case I will get a super-duty instead.
