I'm satisfied, for now, with my '13 HID's but was hoping to get a fog light to match without replacing everything. Not happy to read that yours melted with HID's. What bulb did you use that did this?

You can run an LED bulb in the fogs to color match the heads. OEM fogs are worthless in every vehicle I've ever driven

I have to be honest, I took it to a shop and told them I wanted 6000's for color and then picked up. I'm sure it can be done without melting the housings. I heard drilling a small hole in the back works. Ask on this forum and you'll get the right answers.

Try checking out 35W kits. I've only heard of 55W kits melting housings

Good call, that's really all I need for now. The two color look is driving me nuts. Thanks!

Good to know. I'll be doing more research and asking more questions for sure. Thanks!

Been there, done that. I ran the gamut on motorcycles, the more "blue" color the less light you get. Don't believe me, GOOGLE it, you'll' learn something.

I think, and don't quote me on this, but if you upgraded to the EVOX projectors you could run a 55w setup. I'd ask tux or bilinvic for confirmation though, they are resident HID lighting experts.

jeeeeezussss!
No where did he ever say the bluer the light the brighter it is...nowhere. He simply stated his old HID setup with 6000K bulbs outperformed his current stock setup with whiter light. It is ENTIRELY possible for one HID system to outperform another based simply on design...not Kelvin rating.

Lol, so why did you ask, if you already knew you can customize them to be brighter!!! Theres a few guys on here that do retro work, checkout bilinvic, and tuxedoblack11 both do very good work on retrofitting!

I was talking about my 2010, sorry I wasn't clear. Evox is the way I'm going. I never said I was familiar with way HID's work. I just know in my 2010 they were 6000's and they lit up the road a lot more. My girlfriend was the first one to point it out as soon as we jumped in my truck when it went dark. I love this forum and all the trucks in it
but the negativity is close at all times I see.
