A common misconception is that the higher the Kelvin number is, the more light output you will have. That is a false. For HID's, Light output is optimal right around 4200K-5000K. And the higher the Kelvin number, the less lumen's (output) they produce.

I agree with you.

I had HID's installed in 2010 and they were 6000's which is a very light blue. The ones In my 2013 are more white which are probably 4700's but they have less light output. Going with the Evox projectors to fix the problem.

Huh? 4700/4800 have MORE output than 6000. Do the research.

The bulbs themselves have more light output, but the design of the housing (or projector in this case) are what project the beam. It's like when you drive 2 different brands of cars that use the same headlight bulb, and one has better lights than the other.

The bulbs themselves are the same brightness, but the housing is what makes them work, or fail

I don't need to do research, my eyes and the pics I've taken on both prove it. I'll post so you can go ahhhhhh. It may be the wattage.

I know this is probably a stupid statement, and if I'm wrong please do disregard this completely.

I hope to god you aren't measuring brightness by looking at the front of the truck! All that measures is GLARE!
