Default New here quick question

I have a 2012 Lariat Super Crew with factory 20" rims. Was wondering if I can downsize to a 17". I've heard a lot of people that say it won't fit because of caliper size or the lower ball joint bolt but haven't been able to confirm it. Also sites that ask for trim package when buying wheels won't offer less than 18" for the Lariat. I apologize if this has been answered before I couldn't seem to find it. Just would like a little peace of mind before I go and order a set of 17"s and not be able to use them.

I do believe the 17 will fit since the stock size for the F150 XL is a 17 inch tire on steel wheels, brakes and control arms are the same.

Thanks. If they're all on the same suspension and all I guess it shouldn't be a problem then. I'll have to see what I can come up with now.

A 17" rim will fit with respect to diameter, but realize not all rims are "created equal"...so to speak. Different offsets and spoke design can cause interference with the calipers in some cases. A Ford-specific rim will work, but I'd stick to using stock wheels or standard steelies to make sure you don't waste your money.

Appreciate that. I'll definitely be looking at close to zero offset or in the negatives to get the tires away from the suspension and also something with a deep hub with respect to the spokes since the rotors on these trucks are nearly flat...
