Just my opinion, but if you don稚 want to go heavier on the black, so the chrome Oem ones. If you want and can afford it, do the real Oem housings with the HID. The gray against the chrome would blend it all together nicely.

Oh I see what you are saying. They should all have the same projector as, at least by model number, they are all the same(PRO-JH-FF15009-OE-BK/C). I feel your best bet to match your truck without pulling the housings apart would be OEM housings. I just don't know how the all black with the all chrome(or brushed?) grille. But like I said, if you pull apart the chrome housings you can match them to the OEM look and do a HID retrofit together, as I did.

Thanks for the photo. I saw this headlight at McDonald's the other night with the F-150 logo and was wondering if it was OEM. It was night but I could tell it was a dark truck under the parking lot lighting. I like the OEM projection style. In our 2010 my son liked the Spyder projector option that came with H7 and 1157 bulbs which I never installed before converting both to LED. These are working out fine glare wise with LED vs halogen bulbs. Went with the Lasfit white/amber to stop hyper flashing that the first LED choice gave me for turn signals. I like them staying white even when the amber is flashing.

Since the headlights are not on the projectors do not show well but they are smaller size projectors than the OEM projectors of the era. The heavy C halos actually add more useable light than I expected. When in town at night I often run as in the photo.

I hear exactly what you're saying. I'm not a full blackout kind of guy with my stx, but definitely hate chrome

Love this look. If you can do the same thing by getting your grill PTM like that, that would look awesome

I知 thinking of doing the lights and grill like this! Looks really clean and for the money these lights look great with an hid kit. Doesn稚 take the class away from the platinum...

I知 doing the full Morimoto projector conversion on the non-DRL version of these aftermarket lights, and have a few questions. This is my first retrofit, so I apologize in advance for the newbie questions.

1) The Morimoto projectors look close but don稚 appear to just bolt in. From what I can tell the bottom holes in the projector seem to line up, but it appears I値l need to drill two new holes in the upper portion of the Morimoto projector housing that will line up with the headlight base. Is this correct?

2) It appears I値l need to add a small notch in the headlight housing to make way for the high beam electrical connector on the Morimoto projector base. I知 handy with a Dremel so this is no big deal, but please correct me if I知 not on the right path.

3) Since I知 doing the full Morimoto conversion do I entirely remove the existing wiring in the new headlight and instead use only the Morimoto stuff? I知 pretty sure that I should remove the existing wiring, but wasn稚 sure what do do with the wiring for the high beam motor.

I like to add spacers and you wont need to cut anything.
Or use a dremel or large drill bit to poke the connector through.

The entire wiring harness can come out.

@M3TOSVT thank you very much for the quick response! That makes sense to just use spacers and drill the housing instead so I don’t have to drill the projector. I was kind of worried on the latter as one of the existing upper housing holes looked like they’d have ended up closer to the projector than I’d have ideally preferred.

I’ll post back with the additional lessons that I learned as a retrofit newbie when I’m all done.
