I put extra sealant on mine. Not sure if they actually need it or not.

I've been following this thread with great interest, and it has raised a question for me.
I see members have bought from mainly two different eBay sellers. Those members say the quality is good form each seller.
Both sellers pictures look the same to me, just wondering it both are selling the same product?
The "black" projectors look really great on the trucks pictured. Mine is a Ruby Red Lariat with lots of chrome on grille, so I think the chrome version would look better on mine (just my opinion). Both sellers have the "black" and the chrome versions, but at a pretty good price difference. Just curious if one is really that much better than the other?
I know it's a "pays your $$ and takes you chance" eBay item, but just looking for opinions before I order.
BTW thank you all for the great info and HID conversion links and vendors.

My experience with products like this, there's one company/ factory in China making them with a bunch of distributors marking them up at whatever they please. I'd expect the quality of the lights between either vendor to be the same with the variables being the level of service and maybe packaging.

How hard is it to swap the projectors?

I'm going to RTV mine just to play it safe. No sense in not doing it.

I agree with paintballdude05. The photos that were posted even looked better with the cheaper lights IMO. I don't think there is any difference though.

I have only worked the ones with a DRL in them. I have the non DRL one on order for another build that will happen soon. I will chime in if they are the same exact light or not. My guess is yes, but I have been wrong before.

Went ahead and ordered a couple of the V2 Evox-r projectors with some CBI bulbs, 50w Morimoto ballast, RGB demon and halo leds, and a nice switchback C-Bar led to top it off. Will post up the build when it gets underway or you can follow the build on my Instagram on the icon in my signature.

Hylux a2088 35w ballasts (you need two of these)

https://hidkitpros.com/shop/hylux-hi...llast-35-watt/

why i chose these:

Morimoto bulbs are essentially the same as yeaky bulbs, which you can find for basically half the price on ebay, but there's a bit of leg work in finding a legit yeaky bulb and not some replica and theretrofitsource will warranty the bulbs for you, so its worth the extra cost for someone new to HIDs. I said 6500k because while usually the warmer the temp you go (5500k is warmer than 6500k), there have been tests done that show the 6500k yeaky/morimoto bulbs are much brighter than the others. Also, read up on bulb shimming...these rebased HID bulbs typically require shimming for optimum output, mine needed about a half inch of material at the 6 oclock position to bring the hotspot to the center.

Hylux ballasts are bar none the best cost effective ballast there is. They basically never die, put out great power and have no issues really. You could go on TRS (the site i linked for the bulbs) and get a morimoto all in one h7 kit, but i see way too many instances of their XB ballasts failing and while they'll warranty them out no problem, not worth the hassle IMO.

The morimoto harness is basically just one of the only quality options out there.

So, all I need to do is buy two of each of these right? Then throw them in my new eBay projectors and be good to go??
