Default New 2014 King Ranch!

Greetings all:

I'm a long time lurker on this board and have been wanting an F-150 for some time. I finally jumped in and purchased a new 2014 King Ranch!

I've read all the stuff about the 2015's but the price on the KR will go up nearly 3600 dollars so if I didn't get a current model I would not be able to swing a 2015 plus I really like the looks of the current truck.

Anyway, the truck is really something. It's the platinum white w/adobe lower accent, 20" King Ranch wheels, ecoboost, Luxury pkg and 3.31 rear e-lock. It doesn't have the chrome step bar, just the standard KR tan one which is OK with me. The engine is super quiet - even when I 'put the vinegar to it' you barely hear a peep but the truck just rockets forward with authority. I only did this a few times since the MPG number dropped with each boost.

I had driven a Lariat about a month ago and it was nice and I would have gotten it but it had the Chrome Package which I didn't like. The chrome package wheels are available on the Lariat and KR but the 20" wheels I got are exclusive to the KR which I think look better with the adobe paint trim.

I do have one question for those who may have some insight: My truck has a center 'grille' with two vertical black bars in the bumper. I stopped by a friend of mine's house and he has a 2013 KR and it doesn't have that grille insert but there are two slots along the bottom where it looks like the insert would go. Is the insert something new on the 2014's or is his 2013 missing that insert. Just wondering. I looked online at some images of the 2013 F-150's and can tell.

I've posted a pic of the new girl - it's only a front view as it's raining here today so a day of rest for me and the truck. Hopefully I can get a full view shot soon.

Regards - MickieMac

Welcome!
Good looking truck. I always liked the KR in white. Nice choice. The grille insert was applied to the EB's in 2014, thus the reason your buddy's doesn't have it. It can be easily added though, as I had my dealer do it upon delivery of my '13.

^^^ What MCDavis said!

If your buddy really wants a grill to cover up the big empty hole, he can get the 2014 grill for $$$$!

For my 2013 I got the one in the pic below for $30 off eBay.

I'm located South of Charlottesville, in the Scottsville/Howardsville area. A very nice place to be!

Thanks to those who have commented about the lower bumper insert - I've passed the info on to my friend.

Default Additional Pics of New King Ranch

I had a chance to take a few pics of my new King Ranch. The white platinum paint doesn't show up very well in the pics but it looks great in person.

This truck is really something - very comfortable and quiet. I can see why the F-150 is so popular. I think it's the best truck on the road all the way from the XL up to the Raptor.

Nice truck! Did you get much off MSRP? Or any other incentives? I'm trying to decide between a late model used or new truck. Looking for a tow vehicle and the F150 seems good.

According to the paperwork I got about 7K off MSRP plus the 3250.00 in incentives and trade-in assist. I had been pre-approved for a credit union loan but was told by the dealership I had to finance through Ford to get all the incentives. I said OK but as soon as I get my Ford Credit paperwork I'm going right to the credit union and take the pre-approved loan I have and pay off the Ford loan and save over 3K in finance charges.

The discount off MSRP/Incentives are whittled away by the freight charge (they always deduct this from their advertised price then add it back in later - at least in Virginia), 4% sales tax, processing fee (varies in amount by dealer & state) and a few other charges.

Still, I got enough off that I'm happy and I love the truck since I got exactly what I wanted. Notice I said want as I didn't need the truck which is probably the case with many vehicle purchases.

Only you can decide if new is worth the extra $$ over a recently used truck.
