haha, I said the same thing... I almost waited till the 09's came out... And once i seen the pictures.... It was game over... I told everyone i was getting a 08 because it was probably going to be the last f150 body style i like.....

Then switch out the grille. Relatively cheap mod, and that is the only downside to the 2013's as far as I can tell

It's a grille....you're saying the grille accounts for the entire proportion of the truck? Yeah, the grille sucks and it's fugly.....but throw one in from a 2012 and call it a day. I personally think the F-150s are the best proportioned truck out there. Low roofline and a high beltline, high bed walls....handsome tail end, nicely filled wheelwells (Chebby's have square ones for christ's sake) and, come to think of it, I've never found a time where the truck looked awkward at a certain angle. But to base the whole truck on a cheap plastic grille? That's like blowing off a whole house based on the garage door color.
I personally go the other way and say it will grow on you and it IS better in person. It really isn't THAT bad. I'd still have it changed....but it's not detrimental. Thank god it's not a permanent part of the hood assembly.

I would agree the grill is ugly, but then again so was the '09-10 FX4 grill. Very cheap looking IMO. '12 was the best year for the FX4
