hey I plan on hot-rodding my XLT with the 4.6 3v once the warranty is up
it's a 3.55 LS rear as well
it's already got a custom Roush style side exit exhaust, and it's about to get dropped 2/4 here soon and get a rear sway bar, and be set on some 20" six spokes, but I'm going to wait a little while before I dig and in and throw in some Ford Racing cams, some came phaser lockouts, and a super charger and who knows what else
actually the cam phaser lockouts might come soon, because those noisy things drive me nuts...
the chrome bumpers will also get ditched for some painted to match bumpers (Harley front bumper of course), the grill will get changed (to what I don't know; maybe just sand and paint the stock XLT one to match)
you're not the only one wishing Ford hadn't have dropped the Lightening package... don't get me wrong, I like the Raptor, but I'd rather have a Lightening

I've "built" a RCSB 4x4 F-150 on Ford's site and they do offer 3.73s, though no locker unless you go longbed. That is a tempting choice for me as I don't typically have passengers and there is lots of room behind those seats it looks like and the RCSB with the new 5.0 would be lots of fun to drive I bet. Of course I optioned it out so the MSRP was still nearly $34k, but that's still like $3k cheaper than a similarly built supercab.
