I have a 2014 F150 4x4 with the 5 litre V-8. Over the weekend I changed out the water pump due to a coolant leak. After replacing the pump and refilling the coolant I started the truck back up and almost immediately the display on the dash informed me of a hill descent fault and and advancetrac fault. I also got a check engine light and the little service wrench showed up. The truck runs rough now (and didn't before) and even in park I cannot depress the gas pedal and get any change in the engine rpms. I plugged in a code scanner and pulled a variety of codes. P2101, P2111, P2112, P2135. All related to the throttle position sensor. However I never unplugged any electrical connections. I have cleared the codes with the scanner, restarted the truck only to have it run ok for about a minute only to throw the wrench back at me and the engine runs rough and no acceleration. I'm not sure what to do or what to check. Thinking about doing a hard reboot to let the tps relearn. Any other advice?

 

Plug your TB back in, mine did the same when i "forgot" to reconnect it after i had it removed for cleaning.

 

I did not unplug the throttle body

 

I have unplugged mine several times to clean without issue. Try this :disconnect battery, let residual power discharge by turning on lights and or touching plus to minus battery cables. Then disconnect TB.

After about 15 minutes, reconnect TB, then battery.

Now after reconnecting battery, turn truck ignition to "on", but do not start. After about a minute turn ignition off and then try and start.

 

I will try that tonight. I disconnected the battery last night.
