Condensed story.
I have a 2013 F150 platinum ecoboost. Last summer the engine blew. I spent over $13000 to have a new one stalled by Covert Ford in Austin TX. When they installed it, the required both turbos to be replaced in addition to a new throttle body and electrical harness.
I started to get a P0236 CEL
code. When I checked it, it said it was permanent. So I took it back to Covert 6000 miles on the new engine. They tell me it’s the sensor harness and it’s $500 to repair. Said the wire is freyed where it sits by the throttle body and was just normal wear. IMHO that harness may have never been routed or secured correctly since the engine replacement. I really need help with the repair. I have been unemployed for the last 8 weeks and in no way can afford a $500 repair bill. Especially when it was likely cause by the installation. Thanks
Ford will not get involved with a situation like this as no manufacturer would due to the situation between you and the dealer. You are correct that the dealer's tech probably failed to support or route the harness correctly. The dealer should go 50/50 at the least in my opinion since it has been a year. A good dealer would have done more. With the part being damaged, the dealer will not be able to attempt a parts warranty through Ford. I am not familiar with the wire but I am curious if the damaged wire could be spliced? Do you have full insurance coverage? If the damage could have been done by a rodent (has happened to me and others), insurance might cover it depending on your deductible.

I ended up speaking with the service manager. It was a one way discussion, he didn’t say a word. Advisor kept appologizing, I never met a manager as bad as he was. They wanted $549 for a $80 dealer price pigtail, diagnostics and installation. Had 3.5 hours labor. I walked in part dept and terminated the new one (soldered and shrink) in literally 1 hour. I know they have to make money but 3.5 hours at $120 per hour!!! Holy cow
Haha your first problem is using covert ford. Took my 13 f150 for its first oil change and the service manager wanted to argue with me va doing what I told him to do. Not the smartest people.
ford reps won’t do chit for you ever. They blame you for the problems and tell you it’s a problem between you and the dealer to resolve.

you can get good results if you get a good rep. but it's hit or miss. when i had problems with my front diff it took a few calls but eventually i had it repaired under warranty when the dealer wouldn't do a thing. it was a nice catch 22 they tried to play on me - can't diagnose the problem without taking off the cover but (according to the dealer) the warranty would not cover the cost to get to the problem. the ford rep eventually got everything covered under warranty and even waived the $100 fee. YMMV.
