Hi All,
I've decided I want to rename my iPhone; will I need to resync it to MyFord Touch if I do this?

Yes if you want the new name to display, no if you want to look at the old name.

Well, the name displayed is why I want to rename it, never gave a crap about it before! Dang this OCD.
