Seriously, though, a tune. Tunes aren't only about fuel/air mixture, they're also about transmission shifting, which can bring the vehicle to life.
After owning both, and having an OZ tune on both I think I'll keep the 5.0. Yes the 6.2 has loads more torque, but the 5.0 revs quicker and the 6.2 runs out of breath above 5k-5500 rpm. Stock for stock the 6.2 will edge it out. But tuned for tuned, I think the 5.0 feels quicker.
The 6.2 is definitely a better "truck" motor, but for performance and modding, coyote all the way. But, if someone made a set of 4v heads for the 6.2, it would be lights out. There's rumors that years ago Roush made a couple 4v 6.2 R&D engines for Ford to see if they wanted to pursue HO 6.2 models. But it never came to fruition.
