Default Need NO DRONE verification

Hey guys just wanted to make sure before I buy it.lol. Through my research on here everybody says that this is the muffler to get for "No Drone" on the highway. It Will be just a muffler swap, factory piping and resonator will be staying in place. Just for a little bit of sound.lol. If anybody has this please let me know. Will be going on 2013 F150 XLT 4x4 5.0 w/ AEM Drop in filter.

For some reason the screen shot wont upload on my phone. Its the Borla 140085 round muffler 3" from Amazon.

Can't speak for the XR1 and no drone but I put the ProXS on my 6.2 and got rid of most of the drone, but the 6.2 is a different animal and I have the Borla Touring on it now and it sound awesome.

I have a 5.0 with the Borla Pro XS and the factory resonator and can confirm that I have no drone.

I also have the Borla ProXS on my 5.0, but I removed the factory resonator. No noticeable drone to me, especially compared to others with Flowmasters or glasspacks. I can't stand the 1800 RPM drone that some of my buddies have...

Hemholz tube is the only way to have no drone.

Awesome, are you happy with the sound? What size did you get 2.5" or 3"? Also what was the offset on the muffler, center in - center out, or center in - offset out?

Im torn between the XS and the S-Type, i want the V8 rumble but dont want to be miserable on road trips.lol. But from what im reading on the forum is that either of these will have minimal to no drone on the highway correct?

I actually have a single in and dual out. A local shop does custom stainless systems with lifetime warranties. I had them do from behind the resonator to duals out the back. The sound is quiet at idle but you can hear it pretty good when you are on the throttle. Then when it shifts to 6th its quiet with no drone at all. I will say it has gotten a hair louder since I got it but not much. You can definitely tell I have dual aftermarket exhaust but it is not "loud"

Just giving an update on this. I ended up going with the Borla ProXS 2.5 CI/CO. Just a muffler swap, stock piping, stock resonator. NO DRONE! Im super happy about it.lol. I have had it installed for a little over a month and driven lots of terrain. highway cruise at multipe MPH's, loaded with 2 dirt bikes and gear going through mountains, city stop and go, all with no drone. Muffler is not super loud but nice V8 rumble and sounds good under WOT. Muffler was $99 and local muffler shop swapped it in for $60. So for about $160 I have an exhaust that sounds good and road trip friendly.lol

Thank you, this is exactly what I was looking for. The Borla site for the Pro XS muffler has 6 options. So you went with the 2.5 CI/CO, but there is also an option for notch or no notch. Does that matter? Thanks much!
