Default Navigation update

I have tried searching but the responses are all over the place and most do not apply to my issue. I have a 2011 Lariat that I have never updated the NAV software on. I got the letter with the newest offer and am thinking about getting it. The question I have is I see that there are "update" CD's with the package. At the current time I have the USB2 mod and do not want to loose it. Do those update CD's update SYNC?

The other question I have is my USB2 mod just started giving me issues with saying voice commands not available. I have read about just pulling fuse, but, haven't done that yet. Anyone with experience getting voice commands back?

Thanks

I started a thread last month. I just updated my 2010 last month. It's the first update since I got the truck (bought new 2/11). I also have the USB mod with the 2nd port in my glove box. I updated Sync and the maps and the 2nd port still works fine. Sync had to be updated with a USB drive with the Sync software downloaded from the ford sync site.

The updated Sync or map update made everything quicker. Definitely worth upgrading.
