Name that sound if you can?
2013 f150 ecoboost new engine with 8xx miles on it, getting this sound for a few seconds on start up.
Any ideas? One person said it sounded like a manifold leak or something but I don't know..
Sounds like someone hitting the bottom of a plastic bucket real fast. Was thinking piston slap but it's a bran new engine. It doesn't happen every start.

Then of course there's this sound....
Both sounds are very random so when I took it to the dealership it didn't make the sounds

Pretty sure the next truck will be a 5.0 or a 6.7 f250

The 5.0 I had in my '11 Lariat made a lot more noise then my 3.5 Eco does. Injectors clicking and then it developed a knocking sound. That's why I traded it in! My daughter's F-250 with the 6.7 diesel is the quietest of the three...I wouldn't advise buying a diesel unless you tow heavy loads on a regular basis.

I may be pulling heavy enough to justify a 6.7 by then though.

Really interested in seeing how the 2nd gen ecoboost are though, I'll give them a year or so to work the kinks out.

The 6.7 engine in my daughter and son in laws F-250 is amazing...lots of power..quiet and gets 18 mpg for daily driving unloaded. I've been on the fence about buying a F-350 dually to pull our 5th wheel and not overload the 250. I guess its only money and can't take it with me!! Needs a little more air in the bags in this picture!!
