Here's the Nfabs on my previous truck. This was taken last fall. Loved the 6-step as it made reaching items in the bed against the cab very easy. They bolt just as the standard running boards to to the pinch welds on the cab. I was very happy with them.

I like em a lot. Although they can be slick wet.

They can be.

People are putting spray grip stuff or grip tape on them.

No Ford applications offered, but Shrockworks rock slider bars have been on my Nissan Frontier since nearly new. Not so much for rock crawling (use my jeep for that) but instead for body side protection, i.e., parking lot carnage. Seems that worked, 'cus no door dings whatsoever in 8.5 yrs/71k miles. I use 3M grip tape cut to desired length for step traction. No need here for "hoop steps". While waiting for my special ordered F150 to arrive, I'm shopping for something similar - ideally frame mounted.
