Default Mystery Squeak from engine?

On my 2011 5.0 I am getting a squeaking sound while idleing that seems to be associated with serp belt, as it happens at a certain interval. Sounds like a water pump or pulley? Any ideas on where to start? I hate to just ignore if something preventative can be done now?

Not much we can do to help. Pop the hood and start looking for the noise. You can get a mechanics stethoscope to help pinpoint it.

Just thought if someone else has had the noise they may lead me in the direction of something to watch out for. It's not the belt but happens every 2-3 seconds, just a short squeak. We'll see if anyone else has had it happen...

My 89 would chirp in high humid conditions, turned out to be the belt tensioner. DO these trucks have a smog pump?

Remove the serp belt, start the truck, and see if the noise is still there. If it is, you know it is nothing powered by the belt.

I would advise buying the belt install tool. Its a PITA if you dont have that tool.

If not the belt, check Idler pulley and tensioner pulley, they are more common problems.
