Default Do you valet your truck?

I never let them valet park my truck, HECK NO. Went to a upcale resteraunt this weekend and they only had valet parking. I refused and parked it myself. It has nothing to do with paying or tipping. My truck is long and difficult to park, it's not those little Mercedes and BMWs they were parking lol. Besides I used to know a valet parker who was a nut job. Treat the car like crap and go through ashtrays etc. Am I nuts or do some of you guys agree with me.

I try to stay away from places like that since they usually do not keep the beer I like(Shiner Bock) on tap, but if we do then we take my wife's SUV. Her Infiniti fits right in at those hoity toity places. If I did take my truck, then I might let a valet take it just to get a good laugh in seeing him park it. Between the claw marks on the side of my bed from my dog and the streaks on the sides from going through the brush, I am a lot harder on my truck then a valet will ever be.

I've never been to a valet place with my truck. But no I would not let them park it. I'm not worried about my truck getting damaged, it's them hitting another car then my insurance is responsible for it. I would let them park it if I had a car.

I always do when I get the chance, which is not often. I like to show it off, lol! I lock the nav screen and remove or take note of all valuables first and after they bring it back though. Have a massive bumper so I don't care if they hit something, won't hurt me unless they side swipe something. I can see the concern, with my first new vehicle I would even let people touch it but now I'm getting lax. Insurance will fix it if something happens.

True, I didn't think about that.

Doesnt the business have their own insurance to cover that? Or at the very least the drivers own insurance? Every state is different I guess.

I'd expect the restaurant to pay for the damages. Otherwise it would be bad for business.

Depends where... Just had it valeted at the Sheraton figure if they scratch or crash it... Sheraton's got deep enough pocket. :-). When I came out to retrieve my truck... I was surprised my Lariat (with satin Method Split six and Falcon 305) was parked backed in up front next to 2 Porsche and a Farrari as show pieces... Should of taken a pic... My truck does look good! :-). Then again... Maybe the valet was just afraid to drive it too far? Hehe.

If its restaurants... Most will require the valet company ( most outsource the valet) to be bonded. Most hotels will have there own and again... They should be bonded.

My cousin just had his decked out and lowered BMW M3 with carbon fiber lower bumper cracked by the valet at a fancy restaurant in downtown LA by driving through a driveway too quick and not at an angle. Their insurance guy went to him after a few days to inspect damage. He got it replaced under the valet's insurance policy.
