Ive had my 2009 F150 Crew Cab now for over 2 months. Absolutely love it. My issue though is the lack of accessories available for it, both through Ford or aftermarket.

1) The hood/Bug deflector. The only ones out there cover the top part of the chrome grille. Why? All other previous year models have the hood/bug deflector wrap over the chrome grille, which is exactly what I want for my 2009 but have not been able to find anywhere including online.

2) Back Up Camera with Rear View Mirror Monitor. Ford quoted me almost $1500 for the OEM parts! I read on another post that someone bought the "Original Ford Parts" on Ebay for a fraction of the cost and installed it themeselves. Again, the aftermarket versions I do not like and I cannot find the "Original Equipment" anywhere inluding online.

3) Chrome Overlay for top portion of Rear view Mirrors. Ford tells me I cannot purchase just the chrome peice, pop off the black one and install the chrome one because the mirrors actually have a slight difference in design and that I'd have to buy the entire whole new mirror at a cost of over $1000 each. Aftermarket claims the only thing available is the complete chrome mirror overlay and that the half top piece is not available.

Is there anyone out there who can help me out with these few things that I'm looking for?

Other than that the truck is amazing. Only problems so far was rough idle at take off, which as everyone on this forum indicated, went away after about 5000 kms and my left front wheel had an annoying ticking sound which Ford replaced and the noise has since disappeared.

You are not obviously looking on-line very hard. To answer your questions:

2. If you want full dealer price, then the price they qouted is valid. I would recommend Tasca Parts. If you can't find what you are looking for using their site, then just pick up the phone and call them - tell them what you want and they will give you a great price.

3. I believe you have to get the mirror, but this is something you can ask Tasca about as well. And the dealer quoted you a $1000 each for a mirror? You better find a new dealer - or at least another parts person.

Tasca is great to do business with. Talk with Domenic out there, he set me up with all the parts for my camera. Whole deal was around 950, which was about the same as adding it in my old Tundra (which after having it is now invaluable to me) All in all Tasca was great.
