Default Is my "go to" tire guy trying to screw me?

Can you truly buy a correct, full on, tpms for this price? I used to know this, but I forget now.
My neighbor is who I buy my tires from. I uncomfortably almost have to, or he turns into, basically a d**k.
So, I have a spare set of the 20" fx4 rims that I had bought for my 05. I knew they didn't have sensors, but it didn't matter in 2005.
So I'm going to put a good winter tire on those. My "tire guy buddy" says "it's not worth it, those sensors are $120 bucks each."
What do they really cost?

I would say that's probably pretty accurate. I've never had any installed but I remember looking at install prices when I was looking at tires on the internet and the tpms install was around that price. By the way, if your "friend" acts like an *** if he doesn't get his way, sounds like the kind of person I would not want to do business with.

You can get them on Ebay for a reasonable price. Just confirm that they fit your year before purchasing. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...tpms+&_sacat=0

315Mhz for our trucks, they mount on the end of the valve stem, and you can get them a lot cheaper else where. I bought a complete set for $128.00 for all 4 from www.tirerack.com .

I am sure they can cost up to $120 each from the dealer. But the Ford sensors are fairly cheap. I think I've seen OEM replacements for $75 a set on eBay. So he's not completely full of BS

Holy cow, I did it again.
I think golfing 36 holes in 90 degree heat has made me a little loopy.
Sorry guy's.
