My first Ford
After years of thinking about it I finally pulled the trigger on a 2013 F150 super crew FX4 with 30,000 miles. I also bought an extended warranty that will cover me for another 6 years or 100,000 miles. I thought I'd better do that considering it has the ecoboost and all the extra goodies. The dealer said my truck has every option that was available. I love driving this thing and am looking forward to hopefully at least 5-6 years of trouble free use.
Smart man... welcome to the club.

Great lookin truck. Good job on mileage and warranty. Since your new here, a few quick things....
1. Take every thing with a grain of salt that you see about the Eco. You are going to see horror stories and ppl claiming widespread problems with the engine and that it won't last past 100k miles.
2. Never post or ask anything that has already been posted or ask before. You will be burned at the stake, and/or shunned from the forums.
3. Do not mod your truck. You will void your warranty, and the truck came with the best performance parts made, so they are a waste of $$.
4. You should have gotten a 5.0.
5. Somebodies friends neighbors ex brother in law got the exact same truck with a 2mil guarantee(better than a warrant), so you overpaid for your truck.
And finally, we are one big family of misfits. Jokers, downers, mechanics, grumpy old men, arrogant little boys, and keyboard bad as**s. Njiy the site and the truck.

^ What he said! You definitely cannot be thin skinned here.
Your opinion can sometimes be met with flaming arrows, a hang mans noose and insults galore.
As long as you're happy with your mods, that's all that matters.
Only down side is, there really isn't any cool wallpaper's for an eco.

That's bc ford didn't give it a cool code name during development, bc they new it was going to be a turd.
Honestly I've always liked that ford code named their engines dating back to the svt days. My favorite is still the distinction of the motor in my 04 cobra, Terminator. When you call a motor that, it damn well better be bad a**. And it was.
I've got that same wallpaper!!

You're not kidding. Terminator, better do just that. I'm also not a snake guy, but Cobra is one hell of a good name. There's no wondering, you already know it's fast.
There is a good read on the development of that motor and how/why John Colettie decided to build it. Basically when he drove the 01 cobra, he was so underwhelmed by it, and knew the f-body cars were just faster, that he suspended the svt cobra, and had them develop the iron block forged internal supercharged terminator motor. They didn't just slap a supercharger on the old DOHC 4.6, they built that motor to withstand boost. And a lot of it. In stock form it was a beast, in modded form it truly was a terminator. 700 rwhp 03/04 Cobras were common. I know the knew shelbys have eclipsed those numbers, but in 2004, it was unheard of.
