I typically just use a pair of channel locks.

I agree. Have a craftsman 200+ piece set since graduating high school to work on stuff.

Work includes K150 radio swap, jump seat to full flow through console swap, column shift to console shift swap, 26 to 36 gal fuel tank swap, Rough Country E Boards install, headlight swap, and a few other small projects here and there. Installed a set of swing out saddle tool boxes to keep the tools and tie down straps in as they set good under the bed cover and are easy to get into.

Aside from the basic craftsman mechanics set, Harbor Freight has been my go to. Every once in awhile I'll pick something up off the Mac Tools truck, but 90% of my hand tools have come from HF

yep, I have this, the right angle impact, the compact impact and then the m18 1/2" high torque impact. The right angle impact wasn't out when I bought the compact m12 impact, with the right angle impact not much need for the compact one if you also have a big impact. The big boy is worth every penny on suspension stuff and the lug nuts. I also bought an adapter for the scissor jack on amazon, you can use the impact to raise/lower the jack instead of twisting that damned handle

HD is a great place to get the Milwaukee stuff when they have the buy more save more deals. Once you have some batteries you can buy a tool set where its say, buy the battery and charger get a free tool or buy a tool and get free batteries and charger. It'll give you a value on each and you can return the batteries/charger. You end up getting the bare tool far cheaper than just buying the bare tool

I have a tendency to buy Milwaukee tools when they go on sale off HD online, so I have close to 30 batteries between M12 and M18.

I started out my power tools collection using Makita so I added a Makita cordless wrench a couple years ago. It came with both 1/4 and 3/8 heads. It has been a great tool. Cordless ratchet, impact wrench, and bigger impact wrench for the win!
