Default Muffler Question

Does anybody know if there is a difference between the mufflers of a 5.0 liter truck and a V6 Ecoboost truck? The wheelbases are the same. I looked online and the part numbers are almost the same but differ by the last digit. They don't give info on dimensions. Even if the dimensions are slightly different, except for pipe size, would a ecoboost muffler work on 5.0 liter truck? Thanks for the help.

I asked Bassani since their website info was confusing. Their response was:

"Sorry for the confusion. This cat back fits 2012-2013 Ford F 150 Crew Cabs. It fits both 3.5L V6 Ecoboost and 5.0L V8 powered trucks."

any muffler will work. Most OEM mufflers are a straight thru design so there should be minimal restrictions especially between two truck mufflers.

If you compare the factory cat-back systems on the two trucks, it seems the front portion is the main difference. The resonator/midpipe is different. I think the actual muffler and tail pipe is the same though.
