Default MPG calculations off?

Does anyone else have the issue where the MPG's shown on the information menu is higher than the actual mileage? It seems that it constantly shows about 1-2 MPG's higher than what I'm actually getting.

Thanks

Yeah mines always a solid 1mpg above what I'm actually getting. Maybe they figured people wouldn't actually do their own math.

x2. Mine averages between .84 and 1mpg lower when manually calculated.

Here's my 2 cents worth.

IMO the only way to achieve consistently accurate, manual MPG calculations is to fillup at the same pump at the same time of day. Some pumps get calibrated every month and others every five years. The point being all pumps don't put out equal volume.

Also, gas changes volume with temperature increase or decrease, so filling up at the same time of day gets you closest to consistent temperature and volume. Change in volume is also the reason fuel flow sensors in the truck, or any vehicle, may not be as accurate as we like.

I consider my truck's computer MPG a guide to how heavy my foot is and not the
last word.

Mine is always 1 to 1.2 more than the hand calculation. I wonder if they can change the calibration?
