DO NOT PULL ON THE "MALE LOOKING PLUG" in the truck side . that is completely normal, the exact way its supposed to be. tthepicture you posted is proper and the picture that needparts posted is exactly the plug that fits in there. if this is what you have then it will fit. they are usually a bit snug

Default Mounting led tailgate light

Here some pics from my unit.
Hope it helps.
Excuse the excess die-electric grease that you see surrounded in the connections!... You can never NOT have enough of it in there!! Keep it smeared in there often & you'll never see the green corrosion!

I also wanted to test it to just make sure it even worked as the box was beat to hell and just plain old looking. But the trucks towing 4 plug looked like it had pins in it from the factory as I could not get the 4 pin harness for the led lights to go into the plug.
i would say by the looks of that pic that you do indeed have 3 broken off male trailerside pins in the 3 female truck side connections. You can see the solder in the pin where the wire was connected.

one trick to try since they are probably corroded in there, take a drill bit very close in size and begin to drill the 3 of them out, it should start them turning in the socket. once they turn meaning you have broken the bond caused by corrosion, you can use a pair of needlenose and pull them out.

As F150 Trucking said above, your truck connector is 100% correct. Mine looks exactly like your photograph. I highly recommend that you do not perform any of the recommended modifications to the expensive truck connector, but instead, consider that the cheap connector on the light bar is probably out of spec. Instead, either try to hook up to a friend's trailer, or spend the few dollars to purchase a new trailer connector, and try with that to see what we are talking about.

I will agree that the connection is likely much tighter than you are used to, but this allows the connection to scrub any corrosion from the terminals and make a good solid connection.

I definitely now agree with you guys.... I originally posted that it appears that there are "other" studs or the trailer end pin connectors in there because you can see some kind of notches in them & just appeared to be something in there because you can see a lip or "ledge"... BUT if you take a look at the pics I posted (with the old dielectric grease covered all around it...you can also see the notches on my truck end too.

SO yes...do NOT remove or attempt to remove them or damage indeed could occur.

They can be tight at first, so try to wiggle it with a little pressure while pushing in... if all else fails, and the LED light bar does have a poorly made end, you can go to any parts store and pick up a new end ...cut the old end off the LED bar & splice a new one on.
At this time only you will be the judge of determining that.
But get some dielectric grease & lube it up generously and try the wiggle method before that...it should go in with a little bit of effort.
Keep us posted brother!

Guys, it looks like mister morehousej is correct. Wonder how that happened?
At any rate, hopefully steve392 will let us all know for sure.

I really thought that too, at first... BUT that IS the inner connector of the OEM plug...I know it really looks like some pins are broke off, but they are not.
OP...do NOT try or attempt to remove those. Try to wiggle that LED bar plug in there with a little force just in case the pins aren't 100% lined up with each other...it SHOULD go in.

I cleaned out the old dielectric grease to take this new pic and add visual notes to it. (plus I cleaned it all out & added a new generous coating after I took this pic)

No I don't believe he is, this is how they look and they function properly just like this. I tow my boat 3-4 times a week via this trailer connector. I am fairly familiar with how it looks.
