Default Motor Options

Was wondering if it would be more "practical" to supercharge the current 5.4 in my 09 f150 OR swap in a used 6.2 from a donor truck?

I would think 6.2 would match up my 6 speed auto but not sure about the other complications involved in the swap. Do the motor mounts or any other significant changes occurs to the engine bay for their gen of motors? Y'all's thoughts....

I would definitely say supercharge the 5.4. All the complications of swapping to the 6.2 and having to buy a 6.2 motor are going to run way over the cost of just supercharging your existing motor. Also, a supercharged 5.4 is going to have a whole lot more power than just a stock 6.2.

I thought about this today. Swap in a n/a mustang 5.0 crate motor.

Shelby engine lol. Or supercharge the 5.4. Replacement 5.4's are cheap, so if your current one does go down the road you can just replace it and keep the parts.

Put twin turbos from an EcoBoost on the 5.4. (j/k)

I would check some of the Mustang forums as I have found more swap info on them. Most swaps I see with the 6.2 are carbed or stand alone though. I don't know enough honestly to say whether you could control a 6.2 as it sits with an older pcm. Not to mention tuning support and pcm abilities become an issue too. Super charging your 5.4 is the far easier option of course. And hey now.... the only engines this forum knows are Ecoboost and 5 liters... plus debates on which is better by those that can't tell a turbocharger from an air conditioning compressor lol.
