Default Mode door actuator

Hey everyone new here have a small possibility of a bigger issue I have a question about.

I have a 2012 ford f150 and the mode door actuator is not letting me change from feet to face to defrost when I press the buttons.

I can move the gears manually to change the direction from onset the dash by the gas pedal so I know the doors aren’t stuck.

i have tried multiple different new mode door actuators of all brands and still no luck

any thoughts as to what I can try next?

Did you plug the power in before the actuator was installed. Do you have any codes?

Yes I think one of them was a motor craft version and yes I have a multimeter and all fuses look fine and looks like it’s getting power

I did not turn on the truck with it uninstalled I always put it in then start it

Not to make things more complex, but is it the vent actuator or a temp actuator? Is it a single climate temp control or dual? The vent actuator is right behind the gas pedal. Not too bad of a diy.
