modded base model pics?

I'll admit I would rather have an STX, but truth be told the difference between an STX and an XL with power equipment package is a few grand for essentially the same exact options.
considering the limited amount of equipment I "NEED" it makes more $$$ sense to buy an XL, have the lower payment and modd it to my likings. its also a matter of availability. in my area a reg cab short bed 2wd STX is a "unicorn", whereas XL's are usually found as a reg cab in my area. I am not real keen on special ordering a truck when its not too hard to find the options I "WANT/NEED" on dealer lots, not to mention if a truck has been sitting around for a while I might be able to get a better price on it as well.
its also a matter of the stereo too. I DONT want the seperate display and controls on the dash. I want the base model AM/FM unit with the single hole in the dash for simplicity and upgrade purposes.
as for buying used, I want a 5.0!!! I currently have an 07 mustang GT and an old ragged out S10. I am looking for the closest thing I can get to said GT, but with a bed, basically combining the best of both vehicles into one. solution, reg cab short bed 2wd 5.0. my payment on the truck might be a touch more than the mustang, but I pay a pretty good chunk in insurance for the stang, plus insurance on the S10, plus 2 registrations, keeping gas in 2 vehicles.
I have driven reg cab 4.6 f150's and crew cab 5.4's. neither left me with the seat of the pants feel that a reg cab 5.0 gave me when I test drove one @ carmax the other day. and then there is the fuel mileage aspect. both the S10 and the mustang get around 19-20mpg when I daily drive them. and generally between 22-24 on the highway. both have gotten better on really gentle trips. these numbers seem to slot right smack in the middle of what 5.0's seem to be getting in 4x4 trucks so I feel pretty confident I can be where I need to be mpg wise too.

I love the looks of the 04-08's so those pics are just as welcome as 09-up pics. you guys all have GREAT looking trucks.
Norris: your truck deff does not look like an XL. Blue Flame is absolutely my favorite color on the current body trucks but alas it is no longer offered on XL's. its just a big tease to me. not too long ago we had a BF XL on the used car lot, but it was crew cab 4x4. it looked awesome and odd all at the same time.
Modular: did up paint your bumpers black? most of the XL's I see have Gray bumpers. a modded 2wd XL long bed is deffinitely a rare bird. ya goota sharp looking truck too
