Default Missing light in headlight dial?

Is the headlight dial supposed to be illuminated at any time? or just the options surrounding it when the lights are on?

The indicator line and headlight logo on mine does not light up, just the symbols around the outside.

That's what mine does, but the Ranger had a perma lit light for the dial itself, so you could see to turn on the lights in the dark - however, it was common for that bulb to burn out as it was on all the time with ignition, i wondered if this was the same.

The actual **** that turns on mine does not illuminate. Only the surrounding selections. And then when I pull the fog lights symbol illuminates as well.

So, my thought behind this was purely from the Ranger being illuminated, which, makes sense because it could be totally dark when you get in and need to see the dial to turn the lights on.

But now i can't think of any other vehicle that has that feature, so i'm starting to think it was just a nicety on the Ranger that we don't have now.
