2011 FX4

Is it possible to take the mirror side turn signal out without removing glass? I'm hoping the might have tabs and pop out like the front side reflectors do I've seen a bunch of stuff addressing frint side mirror turn signal mod. But not much on front side removal. Did some homework on it but couldn't find a definitive answer. Thanks guys..

 

Nope, you have to take the mirror assembly apart and that procedure begins with removing the glass. Then you can get to some screws and other clips etc. It's not all that hard to do ya just gotta be careful. Took mine apart to replace the black skull caps with chrome.

I tried to pop the mirror off today. Stuck a screwdriver in there at the tabs and twisted. But didn't feel or hear a click like that one unlocked so i didn't try any of the other tabs.. last thing I want to do is bust it. You got any good dis-assembly links? Or tips for me? TIA

 

I used a long skinny flat blade screw driver and probed the clips one at a time while applying a little outward force with my other hand and after about 3-4 clips the whole thing popped off, it snaps back in place with very little effort.
