Default Map and dome light question

Got my led kit in today.

How the holy hell do you remove the map and dome light clears?

I have pried, poked and tugged on them and I cannot remove them.

I looked in the manual and I cannot, for the life of me, find out how to remove them.

Tips? I do not want to break them.

I have never had a vehicle that it was that hard to remove them.

Thanks

For the map lights, open the "sunglass holder" there should be two clips...press them and pull down. The front is held on by a clip and should come out with some force. As for the dome light there should be a little gap facing the front of the truck just pry with some force. I remember needing quite a bit of power. Just take your time and be careful.

Holy buckets...Did Ford ever intend for them to come off?

I finally got it.

Thanks again.

Was that the only one you had trouble with? Did you order stage 1 or 2? And was it from the vendor part of the forum?

It was a Stage 1 from Jon.

I had trouble with the dome and map lights. They both were a PITA to take off.

I have never, ever, had a map or dome light cover this hard to take off.

I was really, honestly afraid that I was going to break them.

Anytime man, I also got the stage 1 kit from Jon and love it. I was just wondering if your lights emit a small amount of light when not actually on. My dome light seems to emit a small amount of light even with the lights turned off...

Do you notice it, right after the lights go off?

If so, it's ok..that's the residual power left in the LEDs, it will bleed out. They will glow afterward for a while. I learned that when I was building starship models with LED light kits.

I just went down and checked mine and they were dark, until I opened the door. Once they the auto lights went off, they glowed.

If they are glowing all the time, something is not right.
