Get the template exact and I see a side job for you. The skid plate looks great. The skids plates are the main reason why I wanted an FX4. Well that and the console shifter with flow through ventilation. I had a van GM van once and I met up with a boulder after night fall which had rolled off of a hillside. It took out my oil pan and front crossmember. This occurance showed the importance of skid plates. It makes me feel a little more comfortable with the road less chosen or road debris.

I knocked a hole in my oil pan on my F250 I had. It taught me a valuable lesson about playing around in the mud/snow without proper underside protection. As far as a side job ??? That would mean I would have to buy the materials instead of "borrowing" them from work. LOL A 4x8 sheet of stainless steel isn't cheap.

Ok, so I finished the front skid plate up at work today. I welded in my spacers, then hit them with some rustoleum paint (just in case the welds decide they want to rust even though the spacers are stainless as well). You won't see it because it's on the inside of the skid plate. I modified it further by cropping the rear edges and putting a 20* bend in the rear for added safety (this way in reverse, it will deflect any objects down and away). I also cropped the edges of the front. Here's some updated pics. I'll post more once it's installed.

Ok guys, here's the finished installed pics. I'm still deciding if I wanna get it powder coated black or not. It is stainless steel so it'll probably get some surface rust in about 20 years...LOL Let me know what you guys think.

That does look great! One thing, if you have access to a bead roller, roll a few beads side-to-side. It'll add a bit of rigidity to it, especially since your mounts are in the far corners of the piece. Other than that, awesome work!
