Default Made the switch from my 04

I'm happy and sad at the same time. Already miss my old trusty 4.6 XLT. That motor was damn reliable and honestly had good power.

My new truck is a 2013 FX4 5.0. I think it'll easily make me forget my old truck. Fully loaded with leather and nav etc. I tested the Eco and liked it, felt slightly faster. But went with the V8 because I just liked it better. Honestly both motors are awesome.

Anyhow, I have a question, the rear axle code is L6. I searched online and was seeing some say 3.55 and 3.73 so can someone clarify what gears I have?

I don't really like the black pocket fender flares, might look into painting them white or replacing with OEM style. Maybe would look better with a 6" lift. Right now it is sitting on 35x12.5x20. I believe its leveled.

No idea brother, either is great! Did your truck come with the origonal window sticker in the glove box or owners manual? I check there....

congrats on the new rig! going to a 5.0L from a 4.6 must be one hell of a difference. and your axle is a 3.73 ELD.

I am probably wrong, but from what I understand if you have the trailer brake controller you have 3.73s (heavy tow package).

Congrats nice truck. I would paint those flares though. There are sites where you can find your window sticker with your vin, try googling it I am on my phone and can't find them.

Thanks guys. The window sticker didn't say the gear ratio. It does have the electric trailer brake controls.

I'm thinking maybe 3.55? Seat of pants meter, my 4.6 with 3.73 and edge, felt like tiny bit quicker throttle response. But after that this 5.0 smashes, from 20mph to 70mph I'm smiling.

Tried and true method is jack the rear end up, spin the rear tire and watch the driveshaft. For every 1 wheel turn the driveshaft will turn either 3.5 times or 3.75. Just mark the driveshaft and count the rotations.
