Default Lowering a 4x4

Has anyone lowered their 4x4 at all? I just bought a 2011 XLT 4x4, and while I'm all for having 4wd, I dont need it this high. At some point I'm looking to replace the 18's and A/Ts with some factory 22's and a more street friendly tread (I spend most of my time in the city or on the hwy), and would like to see the tires sit a little flusher into the wheel wells.

Look at Belltech or American trucks and see what they have for lowering kits for 4X4.

Lowered my '07 FX4 by 2 inches in November 2011, Must have been successful, it's never jumped back up yet. Two inches doesn't sound like a lot, but it's great getting in or reaching over the bed side.

Taking out the blocks between the rear springs and differential housing brought mind down to level. That made a big difference and was cheap and easy.
