Default Lower MPG's

Hey everyone I got a little question here. I traded in my 2011 F150 for a 2013 F150 about a month ago. I've noticed my mpg's are less on the '13 then on the '11 and its the same truck crew cab, 5 1/2 ft bed, both are ecoboost. Anyone know why I get less mpg's? Thank you

Different Gear Ratio?

Engine not "broken in" yet?

Different wheel/tire combo?

I had a 2011 Loaded Lariat EB, 3.73, 26 gal tank. crew. 4x4. It got mid 20's mileage until it broke and they couldn't / wouldn't fix it. Wound up trading it for a 2012 EB Platinum, 3.55, 36 gal tank. Same truck otherwise. The Platinum is maybe 500 pounds heavier? The 36 gal tank would add an average of about 40 pounds?

But the 2012 would only get 16-17 mpg. The 12 is not quite as peppy as the 11. More than the minimal difference between 3.72 and 3.55, perhaps the additional 540#?

Added SCT tuner from MPT. The 87E tune got me another 5-6 mpg. The 2012 got 22-23 since.

And then I had the TSB of a new CAC AND ECU PROGRAM UPDATE done. The stock mpg went to 22-23 and had more power. Wonderful! Couldn't wait to see what the 87E tune would do. Not quite as good as the stock tune???

Mike has been working on getting me a tune that improves on stock for a couple of months, but so far, stock is best. I'm a happy camper and still hoping Mike can improve on stock - but it will just be gravy on an already great situation.

Not to familiar with the tuners and all don't really want to mess with it till I do. The only difference from my '11 to the '13 is the color and the '13 came with 20" wheels. ill wait till the break-in I only got 1,500 miles on her.
