Cool Low Budget Supercharge options?

Hey guys

I have a 5.4 F-150 4WD. I am new to trucks and want to gain a little bit of power. I don't have an eco-boost so theres no easy gains.

I want to gain a fair bit of power but without heavy modification. Is there any low boost supercharge that I can put on without beefing up the engine and tranny? Any advice would be nice

Thanks a lot guys

You won't need to beef up the engine if you stay under 9psi. You will need bigger injectors (they came with my eforce kit). The trans is good for 590 lb-ft tq so you will be ok there. As for going low budget, maybe you could find a nice used unit. I've seen them in the parts for sale forum.

Three words you never see in the same sentence, low budget and supercharged. Your only option and best bang for the buck is a custom tune.

1) Open your window.

2) Stick your head out it.

3) Step on gas, and simultaneously yell out "vroom, vroom vroom".

There's an old saying, "Good, cheap, fast. Pick two."

Agreed, start by looking for a used kit. Personally I would probably draw the line at 7psi. The transmission will stay happy and you'll still have a significant power increase. If my brain is working, 7 psi is equivalent to a 50% increase in displacement. That would be like an 8.1L engine. Jeez now I want one for my 6.2.

Aeroforce intercepter guage. This is with the stock 93 tune from edelbrock at about 5200-5300 rpm. Not sure how accurate the hp number is. I haven’t had it on a dyno yet. Edelbrock claims the eforce will make 478 hp with their tune. Fly-wheel of course.

Regardless of which route you take, i highly suggest that with any kit you may get that you get one thats intercooled.
