For the love! (MPG)
If:
-you put bigger/heavier tires, wheels, or both
-your engine is brand new and still burning off the paint
-you floor it at every stop sign
-you level/lift your truck
-you don't take care of your engine with regular maintenance
than your MPG will decrease.
If:
-you keep your stock tires/wheels
-your engine is broken in (properly)
-you drive like a normal person
-you don't level/lift your truck
-you take care of your engine
-you add a CAI, exhaust, and/or economy tune
than your MPG will increase.
It's not that hard, guys.

Or maybe mileage questions regarding trucks just shouldn't be asked at all....
Its a truck...made to work. If you don't have to work with your truck, go buy a car and help cut demand, therefore dropping gasoline prices for us all.
I hop in my truck and drive...or pull...tow...haul...drive off road...etc. Its used in my business...where if I didn't have a truck to do the work, I couldn't operate. When it needs fuel I fill up.

This is more a response to threads that ask why "my truck on 50 inch tires with 26 inch rims and an 8 inch lift, which I redline at every stop light" has bad gas mileage? Come on, man.
If you mod your truck in a way that decreases your MPG, I completely understand. I myself level all my trucks, but don't complain when you lose MPG over it.

Ok, let me preface this by saying I am a person who likes my truck the exact way I bought it. I had my stereo go out in my 02 Expedition and replaced it with another factory radio. I am also rely on my brothers to work on my cars when needed. So this is a completely up and up question.... Most everything you said makes sense but I am wondering why leveling a truck decreases mileage. (Not that I intend on doing it, just curious why...) Signed.
