Loud as **** click when trying to use the locker
So i haven't tested out my locker since they replaced my rear diff for the pinion bearing exploding i decided going up a snowy gravel driveway to engage the locker before going up on the way up i herd click click click and in the mirror could see and hear the left rear wheel slipping and spinning its not locking just clicking like a sun of a gun i tried it on pavement in natural while engaging slow accel going strait and then slow turn no back end hop just a loud ad **** pop that ecos off the buildings scares the **** out of me and kind of pissed new truck 20 000 km on it and it was already in for a month for the new differential guys any advise or any one had a locker problem. Did ford put any thought into this rear end or just slap anything in there
It was straight all three times i tried it as i know it won't lock until both wheels are turning at the same speed etc i even turned it on sitting in natural the went forward a bit then reverse then forward like you used to have to do with the old jeeps and then tried to turn just loud snaps
I get some noise when engaging my 3.73 locker as well sometimes, but nothing like that. Maybe the solenoid back there that locks both sides together isn't locking correctly?
I usually try to engage mine at slower speeds and with my foot off the gas just to reduce stress on things when telling the rear axle to lock....
Take that sucker in to the dealer, of course they will probably want the problem to be recreated...

Good news dealer says the locker could be faulty so they are ordering a complete dif with locker we are now going on rear differential number two as they only replaced half of it last time .
