Default Lots of problems with my '13 4x4

Alright, so long story short I have a 2013 STX 4x4 SCab with 10k miles. Had a loud grinding noise in 4x4 Low and 4x4 High... Took it into one of the local Ford dealers and found out the transfer case was messed up so they took it apart and put new parts in it. Noise was still there. So they replace the entire transfer case, noise still there. Now they have the whole front differential apart and are saying they are going to have to replace a lot of parts there as well (9-12 hours worth of work). What would you guys do in this situation? Im honestly worried about the longevity of my truck after all of these problems, even if they are covered under warranty currently. (Not to mention I haven't had my truck for 3 weeks)

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. Obviously a factory flaw in your truck, and the dealer will fix it. Once fixed it should be as factory. Maybe you can push your original dealer to supply an extended warranty.

Ditto. If it were the entire engine or something, maybe I'd raise a ruckus, but it seems like they're giving it the proper attention.

X3. I have found the Ford techs to be very knowledgeable and have always had good work.

Sounds like you only had one problem, that they are working to fix. You state you've only had the truck for 3 weeks, give them a minute to fix things. Just my 2 cents worth.

I've had alot of problems with my 13 Fx4, new pcm, all the wiring to the transmission, new rear diff bearings, new driveshaft, and the rear gears are making alot of noise, all problems have been addressed extremely well by my dealer, and it sounds like yours is doing the same. I will offer one bit of advise, if you go in angry, causing a scene, they will not help you out any more than they have to, be polite and let them do their best to fix the problems, they will bend over backwards to make you happy, trust me..I was told right from the service foreman today that if I wasn't such a nice and understanding guy they wouldn't be putting so much effort in to make me happy, and keep me as a customer.

One problem constitutes being worried about the longevity of the truck?

This is a mass-produced, man made product. It's a machine with thousands of moving parts. New doesn't always mean perfect.

Let the dealer fix it and you will be good to go.

Yeah once they get the 4wd drive fixed out of any flaws you should be fine.

I'm happy to see these great stories about great dealers! I just want to remind everyone that I'm here to document any positive dealership feedback you all have; if you're interested, send some details, as well as your full name and phone number, to me via private message.

Thanks for reaching out about this, TDavis. While it does sound like you're in good hands with your local dealership, having the regional customer service manager step in for further assistance is an option. Please send me a PM with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance! Ive had my truck for over a year now, but this whole ordeal has had my truck at the dealer for close to three weeks. Transfer case was broken and there was a part number change so there must have been quite a few with the problems. I have had good service at my dealer for the most part, besides the fact that they ask me to bring it in on x day and don't touch it for a couple days- but I understand they have plenty of stuff to work on and my truck is not the only thing there haha. Im not one of those people that go barging in and start yelling at people either and everyone there has been awesome to work with and super helpful and informative. Hoping they get everything squared away and once the front differential is fixed up that will fix the rest of the problem. Thanks again.
