so... i lost my key which had the remote start on it. I was told through the dealership it would cost 180 for the new key+installation. Any cheaper solutions or other ideas?

Ive saw them listed New on ebay for under $150.00! Heres for a New Pair...

Theres Nothing to Install, just need your Original 2 keys to Program the New ones...

what year? How many factory keys do you currently have? The reason I ask is first when I got mine I had two remote start keys,,, second is you could buy them, get them cut and program them yourself if you have two other factory keys... if you don't then you would have to go to the dealer and have them reprogram all the keys......... I know there a couple of places out there where the key only cost about 50 bucks but don't have a link right now.

When I had to buy a new key for my last truck. I ordered a compatible one off of eBay and had it cut and programmed at a local locksmith. It was much cheaper than the dealer. They would have ordered me a factory key and programmed it for half of what the local ford dealer wanted.

sorry, 130 of that was forthe key, 50 for the programming. looks like the key will be awfully expensive regardless

Here is a refurbished one for $50 http://www.keynet.com/refurbished-fo...mkr-for-9.html

I know the picture shows the trunk pop key but the model number is correct they just don't have a correct photo for it.

Go the the link below and get a new one. Call them to make sure you get the correct one but I think the most expensive is 50 bucks, now IF you have two other keys that came with the truck all you would have to do is have the key cut at home depot for a buck or two ,, most of the time free,,, then take it home and using the two original keys you can program the new key yourself!

those look precut. is it possible to disassemble my key and place it inside the remote to one of those? just curious how that would work...

That is just a picture, as I said you can call them the number is on the bottom of the page. You still haven't said if you have two factory keys?? If not then you can still buy the key at the link above and then take it to the dealer and have the cut and program your keys... IF you have two factory keys then as I stated you can program it yourself. so all in you would have about 50 bucks into it!

unless you find the key cheaper on ebay that is about what it will cost almost everywhere. 130/key and half hour labor for programming
