looks like it shrunk
i got a 6 inch lift installed about a month ago, it looks like it may have shrunk? it just doesn't look as big. am i just getting used to it or is there any reason this could have actually happened?
Barring all the jokes about shrinking inches....
I have had a couple lifted trucks and they all ended up looking shorter in time. But it's because you get used to it and there is nothing to compare it to. I usually would think my truck was tall again when I would try to lift something heavy into the bed or see my bumper be above some stupid car's hood. :-)

"After installing my lift kit it looks like the distance between the tire and wheel well dropped about half inch to an inch in a month’s time. Is this normal? "
ANSWER:
It's normal for the suspension to sag after the brake in period. The ride may be softer also. Just enjoy it.
Did you check the clearance from the bumpers to ground when you first put it on ?
It will settle a little bit, but it's usually not enough to be noticable unless you add on alot of weight with it - winch / bumper type weight. Warn front bumper with the 9.5ti winch dropped my front about 3/4 inch on my old truck, the springs were less than a year old when I did it.
I installed a Rancho lift a few years ago and measured everything front to ground , rear to ground . Checked what the lifts specs were and it said something like "This 4" lift would lift the vehicle between 2.5" and 4" " . It actually only lifted it 2" so I took pictures and sent them to Rancho. They sent me some 6" lift springs that brought me up an additional 1.5" .
