Take a look at how I "locked" my tailgate. Check my post on page 31.

third to agree about JimmiJammer products! I have their plates on all 4 doors behind the locks & hood latch protector....then I have McGuard tailgate lock (uses the same type of lock/key like wheel locks) because I have seen where a the locks with bolts holding the metal piece were simply unbolted by the thief that had more time, so I choose (http://shop.mcgard.com/featured-prod...ock-and-1-key/).

Then I added a Tuffy Security lock box under my rear seat to lock away certain items like laptops, etc. (https://www.pro.tuffyproducts.com/p-...ubwoofer.aspx/)

Ford has an extra shock sensor as previously mentioned where you can set the sensitivity, works pretty darn good.

Good luck!

I know my method won't work for evrybody, But i always back my truck up tight to my garage door with the tailgate un locked, this does a few things for me.

1 They don't have to damage my tailgate to look inside
2 They can't open it far enough to steal it
3 They won't cut my soft top to look inside
I don't leave anything in the bed that i can't afford to have stolen
We all know who THEY are and if those ***** want you're stuff there gonna get it, hopfully if you make hard enough on them they will look for easier prey. Or at the very least slow them down untill you hear the alarm, and you do what you gotta do then.

Guys thanks! I am not a DIY guy (although I think I can install the jimmijammer or the tubing clamp (great idea!)) so I'm hoping the place where I get the ARE cap installed will be able to install some of the suggestions here. I like the idea of the tailgate lock and the cap hatchback lock all being tied into the factory key fob, that's great. Again, thank you.

ive always used the Mcgard lock, this time I went with a MasterLock for truck beds. Its all stainless and has a key, just locks around the hinge. Its like $14 on Amazon.

Amazon Amazon

Masterlock mentioned above. I have it on my Tundra and will move it to my F150 when I pick it up tomorrow.

It aint pretty but its efective and cheap. As a side note I allso wrap a hose clamp around the pasenger side tailgate hinge it will realy slow someone down trying to steal your tail gate. this will not stop a determind thief but it will keep an honest man honest
what he said. put my hose clamp on too. and i installed an actuator to lock the gate when the doors lock.

Where'd you get your actuator?
