Default looking for input on a "chip"

hello all im looking into a programmer/ chip ( edge, super chip, diablo sport etc) for my 2011 f150 5.0, are they worth it? or should i wait and get a 5 star tune, i plan on getting a cai and cat back exhaust in the future, just wondering beacause this weekend im going to a huge swap meet (hay days) and might be able to find one for a fair price

unless theres a distributor there I doubt youre gonna find much of a deal on a flash tuner (nobody uses an actual chip anymore, its all done through the pcm port under the dash). If you do find someone ask if they will do a free tune update when you add those mods later on, many places will do small updates like that for free or very little charge.

If your going to do the cold air intake and exhaust,i'd just wait and buy the package that 5 Star has.IF you just have to have the tuner now,i'd still get one from Mike at 5 Star, and have 1 or 2 of the tunes made for the cold air intake and exhaust, and 1 of your choice for an otherwise stock truck. That way you'd be covered.I have a '12 5.0,and got his tunes which are the economy,87 trailer tow/performance,and the 89 trailer tow performance.I run the 87 trailer tow/performance 99% of the time, and love it.

Just buy it from Mike! He has them that's ready to bolt rite up,and if you get his complete package,it will save you some $$$. I wish i'd bought it all in a package, but since i already have the tuner i can just buy his kit with an email tune for it.Check it out on his website.WWW.5startuning.com
