Default Looking for advice on smoked tail lights...

I hate the look of the silver lights on my Tuxedo Black Limited. They just stick out like a sore thumb.

So I've been looking at either of these two options:
  • OEM Raptor/FX4 lights
  • Professionally painted lights (as seen on eBay)

The easy answer is the Raptor/FX4 lights, but I'm intrigued by the painted lights. My two concerns are scratching and how dark they look. The vendor says he can make them as dark or light as I want.

Does anybody have the painted lenses? How have they held up? Do you have pics??

I went with the FX4, but painted the outside edges black, really makes it look so much better with the edges painted.

I didn't want anything that doesn't meet FMVSS standards as the insurance ****'s are out of control in Canada.

"Shakezone" a member here is the one who sells the tinted tails send him a PM.
I did the FX4 lights from Shakezone (after some "shaky" customer service) in the 09-present parts section.
I then painted the trim like as stated above and they look awesome.

Another option is to use nite-shades and tint the taillights yourself.

I purchased those same smoked lights on ebay. I emailed the guy and told him I didnt want them too dark but not too light. They are too dark. The picture is deceiving. In the day time its hard to see my brake lights which I dont like. I will post a pic tomorrow.

For my 2010 FX2 SCrew, I recently ordered just about everything I need to switch all my lights to LED, from headlights to interior lights. The only thing I have left to order is taillights and I was considering Spec-D Black LED taillights from carid.com. The rep, Nancy Klein was extremely helpful and even quoted me a package deal to include th eLED reverse light..
I wish to hell I could figure out how to attach a pic on my posts... Can someone enlighten me, please?

I see the painted ones on ebay now, thanks IXFE! I really like that.. Does anyone know if they will still pass inspection in Texas?
