Long Travel on 2014 Screw Ecoboost
Howdy y'all!
My friend is looking to long travel his 2014 ecoboost. He is not planning to race it, or prerun with it, so it will only see mild to moderate off-roading. He is looking for something that can clear 37's (with fiberglass fenders and bedsides of course). Any suggestions of brands to look into since he is looking for good quality but is on a budget? Truck is currently stock aside from upgraded turbos. Any help is appreciated.

On a budget I would go with the dirt King kit. It uses oem replacement coilovers and is only 3.5" wider per side. Has he tried just a oem coilover replacement? Usually people upgrade their suspension when they pushing the limits of control and if he hasn't at least done that then LT seems like a waste of money.

I thought I read that the '14 LCA is different. ADD is the only company that I know for sure makes the updated arm.

This being the case, I'd go with Raptor take off gear. 'Budget' and MT/LT don't belong in the same sentence unless you can fabricate the parts. Shocks alone will be 5k.

going raptor take off for just the front suspension will run around 3500. that's UCA, LCA, front fox coils, tie rod ends, brake lines, and axles. add more if you have to buy new because you can't find used (like the axles, or UCA). going with a full kit like dirt king will be 8+. then factor in wheels, tires, and body.
Dirt king has theirs for just the hardware for ~3300, but still needs coilovers and tie rod ends.
I'm still waiting on good deals to come up to grab great priced raptor take offs, but it's a bit disconcerting. People have said to contact the raptor performance companies (rpg, Brenthal, SDHQ) but i've never heard back from any of my inquiries.
good luck.

I had a detailed response written and my app crashed. Suffice it to say a MT setup 'all in' will easily burn up 10k without labor or paint. A LT setup can put you in the 15-20k range depending on who you buy from - again that just parts, no labor or paint.
