Ran 5 Star tunes on my 5.0, 87p/t mostly, for about 30k miles with no issues, and have been running MPT 87 performance/street for the last 9k miles with no issues.

I have 42K on my current truck with a tune.

Had 80K on my ranger with a tune which the current owner still has it installed so it closer to 110K now.

Had 24K on a tune on a 03 I had before it was totaled.

Had 80K on a tune on another 03 I had before selling it and the current owner still has the tune so it's 100K+

I have read SCT tuners were pretty good and the canned tunes were good as well. I know custom is much better, but are the canned tunes on a SCT X4 bad????

Do you not like more power and better drivability? The canned tunes are a little better than stock but custom tunes are a thousand times better than the canned tunes. Probably safer too since the tune is written specifically for your truck and not just some general crap tune to give you a little bit of extra power.

You will not regret getting the custom tunes. If you're getting the tuner for free so the expensive part is out of the way. For another $100-200 you can have up to three custom tunes that will make more power and have better drivability along with the ability to have the tune catered to your specific needs/wants.

Those are five star tunes but you can shop around for others if you'd like.

Not 'bad', but just adequate. Refer to the info/dyno plots in these blogs - comparing canned to custom. Not really comparable are they? Add the items I mentioned in that previous response to you in yer thread, and you have a compelling case for custom.

Not taking my advice, I see. I'm shocked
