Sorry no intent to high jack just curious.

Where did you install the second USB ?
Yes, it can be turned off and on VIA the steering wheel controls.

No, the stock plugs are located lower and are in the back of the radio.

Ya, I ordered a lockpick and thought hell ya just install through the top!!!! Ya no.

If you follow their youtube install video as they do it (obviously you have to pause a lot work then resume and replay portions over and over haha) it was actually pretty simple. It would have been nice if they just said pull the battery terminal right after you move the front seats to get the rear bolts out to save on install time and not have to wait 15 minutes but oh well, it was actually a pretty easy install.

Def. worth the money on the lockpick, I was able to keep the lockpick device in the cavity just to the left of the glove box so if I need to update anything or access the AV cables (which I have plans for) they are real easy to get to.

I didn't realize it required disabling airbags. I was on the fence but I'd definitely be doing this myself. I don't like that at all. I'm a DIY'er but I would sorely hate to screw something up on my way in to change some plugs out. Wish there was an easier way to reach the back of the radio.

Disabling the airbags is really not that bad, it's more so just making the juice is off when you work near them as to not accidently set something off. Honestly, if you get the right side panel popped off except for the part against the airbag you can pull the side up just enough to get the middle piece of molding off, so it can be done with the airbag not even being unbolted, just have to be careful.

I am no expert when it comes to modifications or customizing, but this was actually pretty easy and not worth giving a audio place $100 or whatever it is to do it for you.

Does anyone know where I can get the best price on the lockpick mod? It's $289 on their web site,,,,is that over priced or not?
And I'm having a hard time justifying buying & installing lockpick just so I can use the NAV system on the move. I mean why is it locked in 1st place? If it's because of safety reasons then shouldn't it be illegal to use lockpick to unlock it? Unless someone can explain this to me, it smells like a money making scam to me.

Its done for safety. Its not illegal to use nav while driving but that does not mean they couldnt be sued by someone who crashed using it. Its more of a cya thing

This system is a lot more advanced than than a little switch in your mazda's dash to fix this. I looked all over for a way to bypass it and it can't be done without a device like this. Price is a lot cheaper than buying a dvd system to hook up cleanly in the truck for my son to watch.

This is not just a bypass for the nav functions.
It also releases the DVD to play send a video signal while driving, it adds video out capabilities so I can hook up back seat monitors for when my kids are with me. It provides the ability of installing a backup can if you don't have one and viewing a factory camera at any time not just when in reverse which comes in handy when towing. It gives the ability to had a forward facing camera that will engage when in drive at spreads less than 6 mph which is great for pulling into my garage and when parallel parking in NYC.

It offers many functions as you see not just nav access.
